Description
Performs development and maintenance programming and associated tasks for application systems, including integrated software and hardware application configurations. Analyzes business processes to define application functional requirements and technical specifications. Ability to direct and participate in software/hardware release and installation tasks. Works under general supervision, and may provide specific guidance to others on complex assignments.
Essential Functions:
- Performs and may direct software coding, testing, debugging, documentation and installation tasks for on-line and batch processes in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards.
- Contributes to development and directs task identification, work effort estimates and work schedules for development and maintenance activities.
- Participates in and may direct problem definition and problem resolution activities.
- Participates in and may direct the analysis and definition of efficient, cost effective application solutions which support client business processes and functional requirements.
- Coordinates with internal departments to provide associated deliverables required for the successful completion of development and maintenance assignments (e.g., database development, job scheduling, CICS support, network support, help desk orientation, client implementation readiness, etc.).
- Conducts client interviews in order to perform analysis of client business processes and functional requirements and prepares appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information.
- May participate in client committees and may coordinate client involvement in development and maintenance tasks as needed.
- May prepare and conduct presentations of various work products.
- May train other staff and may review the technical work of other staff.
- Provides on call support and may coordinate on call response efforts as assigned.
- Completes administrative requirements in an accurate and timely manner (e.g., time reporting, status reporting, etc.).
- Identifies potential issues and develops preventive action plans.
- Exercises considerable judgment to make decisions for less defined and complex issues.
- Develops solutions to a diverse range of complex problems, which require creativity and innovation within broadly defined policies and practices.
Qualifications:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field and/or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of6 years of experience in development of new programs/applications or maintaining and/or supporting existing programs/systems.
- Thorough knowledge of policies, practices and systems used.
- Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices and standards.
- Broad application of principles, theories and concepts in information technology and programming, plus working knowledge of other related fields.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Significant experience, usuallysix (6) toeight (8) years, in all phases of applications software development/maintenance life cycles in a large mainframe environment preferred.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, required in computer science or related field.
- Demonstrate excellence in technical skills and technical knowledge required in one or more higher level programming languages respective to various mainframe programming development environments (CICS, COBOL, SQL, etc.)
- Strong skills required in critical thinking and analysis, verbal and written communications and interpersonal interactions (e.g., partnering, conflict management, consulting, etc.).
- Understanding of health care business and care delivery processes preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
