PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for business and systems analysis, user liaison, functional design, development, testing, implementation, support and maintains applications software to enhance business processes. Works with Project Team members to determine system requirements, makes recommendations to Project Management regarding approach and software platform. Duties also include administration, troubleshooting and working with software vendors. Focus area is on Microsoft Dynamics Axapta related systems, processes and business units.
Qualifications:
Experience supporting and development with MS Dynamics AX ERP Systems required
BA or BS in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent combination of skills, experience and education
Minimum 8 years' experience in information systems field, at least 5 years' experience as a programmer analyst
Thorough understanding of system and application development life cycle and large scale software implementation methodologies
Requires a strong working knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Dynamics AX, X++, Classic ASP, , C# and Visual
Experience translating business requirements into technical requirements
Working knowledge in manufacturing, and/or Industrial Equipment Manufacturing
Ability to travel frequently including international travel to Mexico
Proficiency MS Windows desktop operating systems and MS Office tools
Experience, knowledge, or ability in these areas a plus:
Detailed knowledge of Manufacturing, Inventory and Accounting processes and procedures
Experience with multi-national and multi-currency companies.
Experience with 3 tier systems.
Experience with other ERP systems including SAP, Oracle, JDE, etc.
Multilingual English / Spanish speaker desirable
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Ability to understand and analyze current business processes and suggest / develop improved processes and methods
Experience developing software using MS Dynamics Axapta tool set, Microsoft SQL Server TSQL, ASP, Visual Basic (.Net) and Reporting Services
Previous experience supporting Manufacturing, Accounting, and Inventory software systems
Previous experience using a structured systems development lifecycle methodology preferred
Previous experience with the Microsoft SharePoint platform
Previous experience with data conversion tools and processes
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to document and present results of analysis to management and staff
Ability to relate technical issues to non-technical people as required
Excellent oral and written communication skills and a proven ability to work in cross functional / matrix organizations
Exhibits a high degree of professionalism, poise and tact
ADMINISTRATION:
Assists with administration of the client's software development methodology
Maintains documentation consistent with Sarbanes-Oxley certification requirements
Creates end user and technical documentation
Provides weekly written status reports to management
Other duties as requested.
