Summary:
The Assistant Controller will report to the Vice President of Finance and will be responsible for the general accounting function at the Company, including managing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff.
The assistant controller will lead the month end book close process, ensuring timely and accurate period closings, and will perform required account reconciliation each period.
The Assistant Controller will have demonstrated familiarity and experience with applicable U.
S.
GAAP accounting standards with knowledge of IFRS a plus.
Experience with financial reporting, trial balance mapping, general ledger management, and chart of accounts maintenance is required.
Responsibilities also include managing the annual external audit and providing related schedules.
The successful candidate will have a hands-on orientation to general accounting work, and will be responsible for all related accounting activities, including revenue recognition, milestone invoice management, fixed assets, accrued liabilities and reserves, bank reconciliations, and lease accounting.
In addition, the Assistant Controller will partner with accounting groups at related party companies, and ensure intercompany transactions are recorded and matched each period.
Role requires the preparation and posting of adjusted journal entries as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Primary accounting support for all functions, including cross functional business partnership with sales, service, engineering, and quality.
Manage and perform the periodic book close and generate monthly financial reports.
Reconcile and maintain detail support for account balances; analyze for accuracy.
Direct line manager of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, resolving escalations or acting on priorities as required.
Ensure compliance to applicable accounting standards, perform, and document account reconciliations, and manage the annual external audit.
Maintain manufacturing cost accounting inputs in ERP.
Develop, standardize, and enhance, systems and procedures for general accounting functions.
Focus on the creation of analysis tools and company-wide reporting with the use of best practices.
Provide general accounting guidance for planned ERP migration activities.
Maintains and updates accounting policies and procedures on key issues relevant to Company accounts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of GAAP standards required.
Experience with IFRS a plus.
Proven track record of successful cross-functional business partnership.
Experience at a manufacturing company a strong plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working with all levels of management.
Experience in tax is a plus.
Computer Software and Application Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills mandatoryExperience with integrated ERP systems required; knowledge of MS D365 or INFOR LN a plus.
Education/Experience/Certifications:
BS in accounting/finance or related field required.

years of direct experience in related finance / accounting roles.
MBA or CPA a plus.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
Physical Demands:
This position must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets, copiers, scanners, etc.
The person in this position constantly operates a computer, copier, and calculator.
This position must be able to frequently communicate with vendors and colleagues via email and phone.
