Assistant General Counsel Position Description:
As a leading financial services consulting firm specializing in succession planning for wealth advisors, FP Transitions seeks a talented and motivated legal consultant to join our team.
Legal consultants at FP Transitions play a crucial role in providing expert consultative advice and guidance to clients on a variety of topics, including entity structure, succession planning, and mergers and acquisitions.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted consultative guide to financial advisors and financial advisory businesses; Draft and review various legal documents, including operating agreements, purchase agreements, and other documents and contracts that clients may need as part of their consulting engagement.
Stay current on relevant laws, regulations and industry trends; Collaborate with other FP Transitions departments, including valuations and analytics, to develop and implement comprehensive solutions that align with client goals; Manage multiple engagements concurrently and independently; Monitor and report on transaction status and activity to appropriate stakeholders and FP Transitions' management team; and Representing FP Transitions at industry conferences and participating in various webinars and other public speaking events.
Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Minimum of 2 years of legal experience, preferably in a corporate law firm, financial services organization, or consulting firm.
Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical and strategic advice.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
